6 - What is the concept of discipleship?
The concept of discipleship:
It is spiritual multiplication and multiplication.
This is what the Lord Jesus did during his presence on earth, as he invested his life in twelve disciples, built them, trained them, and sent them.
The Bible says about the disciples that they charmed the world, and this is a result of the Lord Jesus investing his life in them.
The multiplying discipleship in the Bible was spoken of by the Apostle Paul in the Epistle to Timothy: "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." (2 Timothy 2:2)
In this verse we notice:
1- And what you have heard (you): This word indicates individual focus, and the Apostle Paul's interest in his disciple in the faith, Timothy.
2- From me (personal relationship): A second confirmation of the personal relationship and mutual trust between the disciple and the disciple.
3- I entrusted him (trust): Paul the Apostle trusted Timothy, and he wanted him to also trust others.
4- Faithful people: An essential quality in the multiplying disciple is to be faithful.
5- They also teach others: This is where the discipleship process begins.
Characteristics of the faithful disciple (faithful people):
1- His goal in life is the same as God’s goal, which is to win souls.
2- Ready to pay the price.
3- Loves the Word of God.
4- Has a servant’s heart.
5- His trust is not in his flesh.
6- Has a community spirit.
7- Loves people.
8- He forgives, does not allow himself to be subject to bitterness.
9- Organize and control his life.
