And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)

John the Baptist came before Christ. He came to prepare a way for the Lord. He called people to repentance and baptized them with water. He is the one who said:

"I indeed baptize you with water for repentance; but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire." (Matthew 3:11)

One day, while he was baptizing the crowds, Jesus Christ came to be baptized by John the Baptist. Why was Jesus Christ baptized by John the Baptist???

Jesus Christ the Holy One does not need to repent, He is righteous and holy, but He wanted to be an example for us to follow in His footsteps. Christ obeyed the voice of God.

He came to be baptized by John the Baptist to confirm the heavenly appearance from heaven to John the Baptist and to those who were with him. When John the Baptist baptized Him,

"The Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, saying, 'You are My beloved Son; I am well pleased with you.'" (Luke 3:22)

This voice is a confirmation of the divine appearance, a confirmation from heaven that He is the Son of God, and a confirmation to us that we need to believe first and ask to be baptized in order to be saved.

"He who believes and is baptized will be saved, And he that believeth not shall be condemned." (Mark 16:16)

Because when we believe and ask to be baptized, it is an expression of repentance. I die to the old nature and live the new nature with Christ.

"Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Heavenly Father, help my weak faith.

I need your Holy Spirit to know the way, the truth, and the life.

Show yourself to me, O Lord.

"The Lord is near to all who call upon him; those who call upon him In truth." (Psalm 145:18).

Reveal yourself to me, O Lord. Help me to believe and believe.

"He who believes in him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18).

Good morning to you with the light of Christ
