"For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." (Matthew 12:37)
The Word of God teaches us to be mindful of the words we speak.
Often we speak and speak, thinking things will go smoothly. But the Lord warns us against any word that comes out without awareness and balance.
The Lord wants us to always raise our eyes to heaven, focusing on our own shortcomings and correcting them so that we may be like Jesus in everything we do. We care about our mistakes and repent of them every day.
Focusing on others, talking about their shortcomings, criticizing them, and condemning them leads to pride and leads us to fall into sin, thus losing the Lord's mercy for us.
Because the Word of God says, "Judge not, that you be not judged." (Matthew 7:1)
The Lord wants us to keep our eyes to heaven. When we see the shortcomings of others, we should be silent and pray for them. We only care about our own faults and mistakes, and we ask the Lord to correct ourselves first before correcting and judging others.
Because when we judge others, we take away the right of God the Judge.
Who are you, O human, to judge others?
Unfortunately, we speak and talk about others' faults to everyone around us, forgetting that we are defiling ourselves.
The Word of the Lord says, "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a person." (Matthew 15:11).
Our Heavenly Father,
Fill me with Your fear, O Lord.
Protect my tongue from judging others.
Fill my mouth with Your wisdom and Your Word so that no sin may rule over me.
Forgive me and have mercy on me, O Lord.
"Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; guard the door of my lips." (Psalm 141:3).
"But I say to you, that every idle word men may speak, they will give account for it in the day of judgment." (Matthew 12:36).
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
May your morning be filled with the light of Christ.
