1- How do I disciple a new believer?
In this series of studies, we will talk together about one of the most important topics that can change the shape of the church or the shape of the area in which it serves, which is "discipleship."
What is discipleship?
The presence of a teacher (disciple), a disciple, a curriculum (spiritual principles and foundations), and a plan of action.
The disciple’s investment of his life with God in the lives of others.
The skill of communicating the Word of God with the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of others.
A lifestyle.
The ability and skill to teach and learn so that the disciple becomes like his teacher.
Building people dedicated to the Lord to fulfill the Great Commission.
What is the importance of discipleship?
1- Reaching out to mature disciples who multiply:
There are many churches in different places that suffer from spiritual childhood. The writer of the letter to the Hebrews says: "For since you ought to be teachers, you have need that someone should teach you what are the basic principles of the oracles of God. And you have become in need of milk, not of solid food. For everyone who partakes of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are mature, who by constant practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil."(Hebrews 5:12-14)
2- Reaching the Great Commission to the whole world, the Lord Christ says:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Which comes first, evangelism or discipleship?
Discipleship is the beginning. When you make disciples who are able to win others, they are able to multiply and become much more, so evangelism is part of discipleship. Those who preach are the disciples, and those who win are also the disciples.
