Some basics in the preaching message
1-Be careful not to shorten it or lengthen it.
People get bored quickly, so be sure to present the message in a short time.
2-Choose understandable vocabulary.
Use simple and well-known vocabulary, and do not use deep religious terms that only believers understand such as (justification - sanctification - true joy).
3-Correct misconceptions.
Correct people’s misconceptions about God and His Word.
4-Understand and live your message.
People need to see in you a living, moving message, a match between what you teach and live.
5-Relate the message to people’s needs.
Attend to people’s natural needs and respond to them.
6-Talk about God’s love.
Talk to the person about God’s love and His incarnation.
7-Put the person before a decision.
Challenge the person to make a decision whether to accept or reject Christ.
Message contents:
1- Introduction and opening the conversation:
Before presenting the message of Christ to the person, use any introduction such as (the weather, sports, politics), then gradually turn the conversation to spiritual talk.
2- Gospel facts:
Talk about basic facts contained in God’s Word to explain the message of the Gospel.
3- The call to accept Christ:
Don't just talk about Christ, but you must put the person in front of a decision.
4- Prayer to accept Christ :
The step of faith and declaration expresses the sincere desire that the person must take and express with a true prayer from the heart, as God cares about the sincerity of the heart more than the words of the lips.
5- Confirmation of obtaining salvation:
Many people who pray do not have a feeling or feelings that Christ has entered the heart and changed the life, so it is important to confirm to him that he has obtained salvation.
6- Explain the blessings of accepting Christ:
Inform the person that when he accepts Christ, he receives many privileges, as he becomes a son of God, begins to experience God's love and plan for his life, and lives a life of obedience, so the Holy Spirit becomes his guide on the way.
7- Make him join the church:
Encourage the believer to attend the local church, as the coals when they burn together become more glowing. A new believer cannot live alone in isolation from the rest of the body of Christ.
There are terms that you must explain well to the person you are sharing the message of Christ with, such as:
1-Man’s sin
This means transgression or missing the mark, and it is an inherited sin. There is a difference between the inherited sin that everyone is born with -
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) - and the sins we commit as a result of original sin.
2-Christ
He is the Word of God incarnate, and He is the second person of the Trinity, equal to God and the Holy Spirit.
3-Death
This term must be explained to the new believer, as it means spiritual death, that is, the spiritual separation of man from God as a result of sin.
4-The Unbelievers
It means the death of Christ on our behalf,"And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for them and rose again."(2 Corinthians 5:15)
5-Salvation
It means true repentance, changing direction from evil and sinful behavior to stopping it and walking in the will of God.
In the end, know that there is a minimum in the conversation to present the message of Christ, which is:
1- God’s love and plan for man.
2- Man’s inherited sin and birth with it.
3- The only solution to the problem of sin is the Lord Jesus Christ.
4- Putting the person before a decision and a challenge to accept or reject the Lord Christ.
Choose two of your friends or relatives and share the message of Christ with them, taking care to provide the minimum message.
