7- What is the cost of discipleship?
Let us review at the beginning of the episode the definition of a multiplying disciple.
A multiplying disciple:
Is the person who shares the love of Christ with others to win souls, build them up and disciple them so that they can go and preach to others as well.
The importance of discipleship:
To live your life for a higher purpose, to invest and dedicate your life in the lives of others. So you are a maker of disciples and successive generations of true believers who disciple others.
Principles of discipleship:
1- Live under God's principles.
2- Be in constant contact with those in need.
3- Be humble.
4- Be busy with the things of God.
5- Live what you read and study from the Word of God.
The cost of discipleship:
Everything has a price and a return, and in order to become a true multiplying disciple, you must be willing to pay the price, give up anything and have Jesus Christ as the Lord in your life.
The Gospel of Luke tells us,"Which of you, intending to build a tower, sits down first and counts the cost, whether he has enough to finish it?"(Luke 14:28)
As you put your hand to the plow, don’t look back, but look to the Lord Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Trust Him and be willing to pay the price.
APPLICATION:
Think about how much you can afford to make disciples?
