"The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love." (Psalm 103:8).
Man by his human nature judges others and his mercy is limited.
But the Lord in his great love for us
He will not judge forever, nor will he hold his grudge forever.
"He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities." (Psalm 103:9-10)
The Lord's mercy and love for us are indescribable.
The Lord deals with us as a father deals with his children. He knows our nature
Despite all our faults
Despite our stubbornness and our distance from Him.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
"For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust." (Psalm 103:13-14)
The Lord is waiting for His children to return to His embrace. He is the one who searches for us.
In the parable of the prodigal son, the Bible tells us that when the son was far from his father's house, his father saw him. His heart fluttered and he ran to him, embraced him, and kissed him.
The Lord had mercy on Jacob despite his lies and deceit.
The Lord did not condemn the adulteress
The Bible tells us (John 8:3)
Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery, and they told Him that Moses had commanded that adulteresses be stoned. He said to them, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her"(John 8:7).
Then Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go in peace and sin no more” (John 8:11).
The Lord searched for the Samaritan woman who was seeking to be quenched with the water of the world through polygamy. And He had mercy on her.
The Lord had mercy on David despite his great sins. He committed adultery and murder. The Lord had mercy on him because of his remorse and true repentance. How great is Your goodness that You have stored up for those who fear You, O Lord.
We thank You, O Lord, because You are the One who seeks the lost to bring him back to Your arms.
"I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the scattered, and I will bind up the broken, and I will bind up the sick, and I will destroy the fat and the strong, and I will feed them with righteousness." (Ezekiel 34:16)
Jesus said: "I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world." (John 12:47).
"I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:32).
"I tell you, likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance."(Luke 15:7).
The Lord accepts us with all Our Imperfections
"Today, if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts"(Hebrews 3:15).
For he says, "In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you."Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Good morning to you in the light of Christ
