1-How can you follow a new believer?

First let’s talk about:"How can fellowship with God be a real priority in the life of a disciple who follows a new believer?"The Bible says:"A generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered." (Proverbs 11:25)

Without this direct relationship between the disciple and the Lord Jesus, self-reliance, experience, mechanism, and reliance on programs are all important, but without true fellowship with the Lord, you cannot expect real results.

Therefore, it is dangerous to follow others without having a direct relationship with the Lord Jesus.

My question to you at the beginning of this series, do you have a direct relationship with the Lord Jesus?

Another question, what is the danger of relying on experience and available capabilities without relying on a personal relationship with the Lord as a basis for that?

God called you to be changed, and then you can, by His grace, change others."And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."(Romans 8:28, 29)

So you must develop every day by the grace of God through the work of the Holy Spirit so that you may be conformed to the image of the Son, and when you do this you can influence others as well.

The Lord has given you all the possibilities by which you can change. He has given you the Holy Word, accept it and let it save your soul. He has also given you in prayer the privilege of entering the throne of grace. Listen to Him through the Word, and speak to Him in prayer, and you will be changed into that same image.

Facts and Practical Steps

1- The relationship with the Lord Jesus is a choice, not a compulsion:

When you know that your relationship with the Lord is a choice, not a duty that you perform, you can say to Him,"O God, you are my God; I seek you early; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you, in a dry and thirsty land, where there is no water."(Psalm 63:1)

2- The Word leads you to a sound relationship with God:

The Lord Christ says,"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."(John 8:32) And the psalmist says,"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."(Psalm 119:105) Therefore, the Holy Word leads you into a true relationship and fellowship with the person of the Lord Jesus.

3- Prayer is the source of deepening this life with Him:

"… Enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you."(Matthew 6:6)

4- Leave all hindrances:

Leave every hindrance that deprives you of the joy, blessing, and privilege of direct relationship and living fellowship with the person of the Lord Jesus.

5- Continuously repent:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."(1 John 1:9)

6- Witness to Christ:

The basic principle in presenting the message of Christ is"Before you speak to others about God, speak to God about them."So, witnessing to Christ leads you to a strong relationship with Him.

Test Questions:

Noha is a young Christian woman who came to know the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior two years ago. Noha serves in an evangelistic meeting in her city, and she was asked to lead a follow-up group. Noha understands very well that in order to follow people, she must first have a strong relationship with the Lord Jesus. What advice do you give her?

1- To start her ministry, and her relationship with the Lord Jesus will automatically improve.
2- To have a fixed time every day to read the Word and pray, and to offer continuous repentance.
3- A relationship with the Lord Jesus is a choice, not a compulsion, so it is not necessary to commit herself to a fixed time.

What does this verse mean in relation to the topic of our study:"A generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered."(Proverbs 11:25)
1- The word of God quenches thirsty souls and satisfies them.
2- Whoever follows people, God will send someone who cares for him.
3- God called you so that you can change, and then you can, by His grace, change others.
