"He who does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor bears a reproach against his neighbor." (Psalm 15:3)
This is one of the characteristics of a righteous person who dwells in the presence of God."Does not backbite with his tongue" means he does not speak ill of others, does not backbite or slander, but rather guards his tongue from evil.
How wonderful is this quality that delights God’s heart! In a world filled with hurtful language, gossip, and slander, the Lord calls us to be people of purity in our speech. The tongue, though small, has great power, whether to destroy or to build. The person who does not backbite with his tongue is someone whose heart is filled with love, not allowing his words to be an instrument of harm or division.
The Lord doesn't just look at what we say, but at what's in our hearts. If the heart is pure, the mouth will speak grace. Let us ask the Lord to make our tongues speak life, not death; edification, not destruction; truth, not slander.
Pray with me.
Lord,
Purify my heart and purify my tongue.
Teach me to choose my words wisely.
Guard my mouth, Lord, so that I don't say anything that harms.
Make my tongue an instrument of peace, not of conflict.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
A morning of not speaking lies, malice, or harming others.
A morning of dealing with others with love.
Have a blessed and happy evening ❤️
