2- How do you become the hand of God?
At the beginning of the episode, let us review together the concept of the double disciple that we mentioned in the previous episode.
The double disciple:
He is the person who shares the love of Christ with others to win souls, build them, and disciple them so that they go and preach to others as well.
Discipleship begins with a correct relationship with Jesus Christ, so your heart must be perfect before God. In preaching the Gospel, you can take the Lord Christ as a role model and example, as the Lord Christ, while on earth, preached to the Samaritan woman and Nicodemus, and called Matthew, Zacchaeus, and others.
The disciple must focus on building a personal relationship with the one to whom he delivers the Gospel message. There are eight lessons that we can benefit from that the Lord Christ applied in his preaching to the Samaritan woman, which are:
1- He asked for her service:
He said to her: "Give me a drink", many enjoy providing service to others.
2- How to make an introduction to the conversation:
The Lord Jesus prepared the conversation according to what the need required. Her daily need was to draw water, so He said to her:"... If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, "Give me a drink," you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."(John 4:10)
3- Choose the questions:
Choose the questions that answer them and ignore the others. This is what the Lord Jesus did. He ignored the Samaritan woman’s statement: "The Jews do not deal with the Samaritans." He skipped this point because it was a cause of disagreement, while He answered about the place where worship should be offered (John 4:20)
4- Touching the real need:
The Lord Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman about her previous husbands and her personal life. When you meet a stranger for the first time, do not ask him directly: "Do you want to accept Christ?" Rather, start a good relationship with him, then choose an appropriate entrance to talk about Christ.
5-Speak the truth:
Speak the truth even if it hurts sometimes. The Lord Jesus said to the Samaritan woman:"You worship what you do not know, but we worship what we know. For salvation is of the Jews." (John 4:22).
6- Partially agree with the person:
The Lord Jesus partially agreed with the Samaritan woman, as he declared to her that the issue is not about worshipping in Jerusalem or on this mountain, for God is a spirit, and those who worship God must worship in spirit and truth.
7- Focus on the goal of the dialogue:
Do not allow the discussion to deviate from the main topic. The Samaritan woman tried to change the dialogue and enter into a theological argument when the Lord Jesus said to her: "The one you now have is not your husband," but the Lord Christ did not allow her to do so.
8- Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit:
Be sensitive to the way the Holy Spirit deals with the lives of the people you share the message with, as you are dealing with individuals, not numbers. Try to discover what the real need is in the person, and through his need present him with an appropriate message about the love of Christ.
Finally, we pray that these lessons will help you in evangelism.
