How can the resurrection of Jesus Christ change the way you view pain and suffering in your life and the lives of others?
O Lord Jesus Christ, risen from the dead
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for conquering death and raising us with you to new life.
As it is written:
"He is not here, but he is risen!" (Luke 6:24)
You have risen, Lord, and declared that death no longer has power, and that life with you is stronger than all darkness.
We thank you for your love revealed on the cross and for the hope of eternal life through your resurrection.
"Blessed be God... who, according to his great mercy, has given us birth again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." (1 Peter 3:1)
On this glorious feast, we place in your hands every lost soul, every distant heart, and we pray that you will call them with your Spirit, bringing them back to life.
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live." (John 11:25)
Rise, O Lord, in our hearts, in our homes, in your church, and in the entire world.
By your resurrection, shine upon all darkness and fill us with the joy of new life.
Glory be to you forever,
Amen.
