1-Why do we preach Christ?

Preaching is mentioned 60 times in the Bible. It originally came in Greek as “Kerosos” meaning to announce or proclaim.

Kings and heads of state used the herald in ancient times, who would proclaim news, international rulings, or royal orders to the people. This is the basic origin of the word"proclaim" or "preach."

The Bible tells us that we as believers should preach, and all believers are called to be preachers.

Preaching is different from teaching in the Bible, as preaching is not teaching. Matthew the Evangelist says:"And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom."(Matthew 4:23) So preaching is the preaching of what the Lord Christ did for us, while teaching is how we should behave in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ.

The Biblical Basis for Preaching:
1- People are lost without the Lord Christ:

The Word of God says:"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:10) People without the Lord Christ are spiritually dead, that is, separated from Him without hope. They may live, move, go, and come, but they are dead in sins and transgressions.
But God made a plan for salvation when He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in place of humans. Without Him, there is no salvation. Jesus Christ is the only way for sinful man to reach God.
"And there is salvation in no one else. .."(Acts 4:12)

2- God prepares people for repentance:

".. and he is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9), this is God’s will for mankind.

3- God commands us to deliver the message of Christ to others:

He made a provision for our salvation, prepared and equipped people and chose us believers, so that we may go and preach the good news of the kingdom to all mankind.

Why do we preach:
1- Because it is the desire of God’s heart.

2- Because angels do not preach.

Preaching is the role of man. Cornelius the centurion was a pious and God-fearing man, an angel appeared to him in a vision and said to him:"Go and call Simon Peter from Simon the tanner’s house, and he will tell you what to do." The angel could have preached to Cornelius, but he did not because it is not his role to preach, but we humans, and we believers, are charged with preaching.

3- So that we may bear fruit because we are branches in the vine.

The Bible says,"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit."(John 15:1-2). And in verse 5 He says,"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit, for without me you can do nothing."

4- Because it is a necessity and a responsibility.

The Bible says:"… Since necessity is laid upon me, woe to me if I do not preach the gospel." (1 Corinthians 9:16) You may be alone in a certain place, you are the only one who represents the light in a dark place, so the responsibility has been placed on you to go and preach. We are responsible for those we know and have not warned, and we will give an account if we fall short in their right. Many Christians act like children who are having fun, playing, and busy with other things arguing about the validity of the teaching, and about matters that are not worth spending time on. But our main goal as believers and our first responsibility is to go and preach the message of Christ.

5- Because it is a natural result.

".. I believed, therefore I spoke.."(2 Corinthians 4:13). True faith is always followed by actions that prove its validity, the most important of which is that the believer bears witness about the Lord Christ.

6- Because it is a severe need and a single solution.

God created hunger and the Holy Spirit created thirst in the hearts and souls of lost people who are far from Christ. The only solution is in the Lord Jesus, as He said about Himself: ".. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."(John 14:6). There are not many ways, but one way is Jesus Christ.

7- Because it is a divine command.

The one with authority in heaven and on earth says:"…Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."(Mark 16:15) It is a command and an assignment not only for the disciples in the time of the Lord Jesus Christ, but for the disciples throughout the ages, for me and for you as well and for the generations to come.

My dear brother/sister,

In order for you to be able to continue studying this series and finish the first training course, you must answer this question: Mention three or four reasons that motivate us as believers to preach?
