You are the salt of the earth
"You are the salt of the earth، But if the salt loses its flavor، wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men" (Matthew 5).
I hesitated a lot to write something while I quietly, honestly and humbly contemplated these clear, revealing, harsh and decisive words that the Lord Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, and inside me I had a deep feeling to take them this morning for myself and for those who want.
I hesitated a lot because all of us, without exception, in the midst of the difficult circumstances of our lives that we are going through, want words, meditations, verses, and even hymns and sermons that reassure, comfort, encourage and embrace us so that we can continue on our journey of life. We do not want words and meditations that rebuke, shake, and rebuke us and reveal what is inside our hearts and ask us to determine our position in the world that we know is still inside us.
According to the decisive words of the Lord Jesus that the Holy Spirit put in His book, either we are pure salt that glorifies by the Spirit the heavenly Father alone and the Lord Jesus His Son. Either we are corrupt salt that has the image of salt and piety but without spirit, taste, authority and power. Either our Christianity is according to the desire of God’s heart in a serious daily personal relationship with the Holy Spirit and fire, based on the person and blood of the cross and scourges of the Lord Jesus Christ and the biblical truth alone.
Or our Christianity is lukewarm, cold and routine, in which the Lord Jesus may be present, but because there are many things and many names with Him and around Him, His person, name, blood and the biblical truth that glorifies Him alone are lost in it. Since our childhood, the Holy Spirit has tolerated us and observed the simplicity of our faith and Christianity through a candle, an image, a statue, prayers memorized, read and memorized with practices, fasts and our going to our churches on Sundays and holidays.
But the Holy Spirit and His fire, which is solely responsible for glorifying the Lord Jesus, will never tolerate seeing us, when we grow up, continue to live our Christianity with the same manifestations of our childhood faith. The Holy Spirit and his fire will never accept that our Messiah remains a symbolic Messiah because the Holy Spirit and fire will not and will not glorify except the living Christ. Without the Holy Spirit, relationship and fire, the flesh will prevail and the world will permeate, Christianity will become a religion, salt will spoil and be cast out to be trampled by people.
Without the Holy Spirit, relationship and fire, Satan will quietly and confidently establish a foothold on bodies and will strip them of their peace through trials, diseases and hardships. Then he will quietly enter homes and churches and will participate forcefully and enthusiastically in meetings and discussions and will contribute effortfully to organizations and fundraising, but he will try in every way to keep people away from thinking about the salvation of their souls, their eternity, the eternity of their children and heaven.
The time has come for us to make a decision about our eternity and our life. Either we are pure salt or we are another salt that has the image of piety, but unfortunately it is not protected by the covenant and blood of the cross of Christ. The biblical truth alone is not the only truth, and the Holy Spirit and his fire are not present in it, so it becomes corrupt salt that wounds the heart of the Father and grieves his spirit. The chamber, the Holy Spirit and the fire are waiting.
